To decide who to hire for SEO in Pakistan, ask every agency the same ten questions in writing, then score the answers. The best agency for you is the one that tells you exactly what it will do each month, who does it, how you will see the result, and how you can leave. It is not the one with the loudest promise. This guide works for Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and every other city, because good SEO is bought the same way everywhere.
Last checked: 27 October 2026. This is a buyer's guide from a.hub by Artwing Studios. We name and rank no other company here, and you should put the same questions to us.
Does the agency need to be in your city?
Usually not. SEO work is done online, and reports, calls and WhatsApp work from anywhere. A local office can help if you want meetings, but it does not change the quality of the work. Our own head office is in Karachi, and we deliver to clients in other cities online. What matters is whether the agency understands your city's areas, trades and ways of asking. Ask for an example of a plan written for a city like yours.
Ten questions to ask before you sign
Send these by email or WhatsApp so the answers are in writing.
- Which tasks fill month one, month two and month three?
- Who actually writes and builds, and can I speak to that person?
- Can you show me a real report from last month, with the client's permission?
- Whose name will Search Console, Analytics and any ad accounts be registered in?
- Where do you get your facts about my business, and who verifies them before publication?
- How many items do I receive monthly, and who signs them off?
- What does the quoted fee cover, and which costs sit outside it?
- What is the notice period, and can I stop at the end of any month?
- How do you check whether ChatGPT or Gemini names my business?
- When a published page turns out to be wrong, how quickly do you correct it?
Red flags
- A guarantee of the top spot. Nobody outside Google decides who is first.
- A fee that exists only in a voice note, never in writing.
- Accounts opened in the agency's name instead of yours.
- Output measured in thousands of cheap pieces. Google acts against low-value content published in bulk.
- A menu of link packages. Pakistani link markets are full of spam networks.
- Awards, star ratings or rankings with no link you can open.
- Monthly reports that count visits but never list the work done.
- "AI SEO" sold with no way to see the answers an assistant gives.
A simple scorecard
Give each agency 0, 1 or 2 points on each of ten criteria, then add up. Do the sum yourself, with the written answers in front of you.
- Monthly plan: 0 for vague, 1 for a list, 2 for a list with numbers and dates.
- People: 0 for unknown, 1 for names, 2 for names you can speak to.
- Reporting: 0 for none, 1 for traffic only, 2 for work done and results.
- Ownership: 0 if they hold your accounts, 2 if you do.
- Facts: 0 if they invent claims, 2 if they use only facts about you that can be checked.
- Volume and quality: 0 for bulk, 2 for a stated pace with checks.
- Price clarity: 0 for verbal only, 2 for a public or written price.
- Exit terms: 0 for a locked contract, 2 for cancel any month.
- AI search: 0 for no method, 1 for advice, 2 for a schedule that checks assistants and shows the answers.
- Honesty: 0 for guarantees, 2 for refusing to guarantee.
Criteria 4 to 8 and 10 are 0 or 2 on purpose. They are not a matter of degree. A total of 15 or more out of 20 is a reasonable shortlist. Below 10, look elsewhere. These cut-offs are our own rule of thumb, not an industry standard.
What you should have in hand after a quarter
SEO usually builds over three to six months, so a fair test of the first quarter is the paperwork, not the traffic. After thirty days you should be holding an audit, a list of fixes, and a plan that you have signed off. After sixty days the first pages should be live, with Search Console and Analytics registered in your name. After ninety days you should have read a full report and met the provider to decide what to keep, change or stop. If any of those items is missing, ask for it in writing before paying the next month.
